Hi everyone! I hope you’re going to have a great vacation. I am reading a book called Counting on Grace. Isabela and I are reading it. So far we both enjoy it very much. So when we are finished check it out. What book or books are you reading?

I remember what you said in s.s. about good books to read as a class. A book I got that would be good is Kingdom Keepers (it is meant to be in Disney) by Ridley Pearson. It is about kids who enter a contest and they are the lucky winners, they become a thing called DHI( Disney Host Interactive). Every night in their dreams they go to the park. The thing is all the disney villians are real. Eventually in the real world the evil disney witch Malificent tries to ruin the park. Then its DHIs to the rescue.

Josh-
I’m so glad to see that you checked out our class blog! Thanks for recommending the book “Kingdom Keepers,” it sounds like a fantasy adventure! The kids that become part of the DHI are like super heros, right? Has anyone else read the book or think they might read it? I know I’m going to check it out!

Makaylah-
I am reading this book called, “Peter and the Shadow Theives.” It is a really good book (you can find it in the library)!! It involves an adventure including Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. Where I am at in the book, Peter and Tink are on Captain Nerrezza’s and Ombra’s ship (both bad and scary guys) Ombra and Nerrezza are trying to get the special star stuff, but Peter and Tink need to beat them to it. This book is about 600 pages, and my dad and I are reading it together. We normally read right before I go to bed. Sometimes this book gets really tense and breathtaking. If you like adventures, and some fantasy, this book is for you!

In “Counting On Grace,” the main character Grace is kicked out of school because she is going to have to work, but her teacher doesn’t want this guy named french Johnny to take another child away to the mills. It is a very good book so far. If you like realistic fiction, then this book is for you.

I am reading this book called “Chicken Boy.” I am not that far in the book, but it is really good so far. It is really funny. The boy’s dad doesn’t live with them so he lives with his Grandma and his grandma isn’t a really good driver. The boy has an older brother and his older brother tries to bribe him with a big cheeseburger and large fries to not get dropped off at school by his grandma.

I recomend the Charlie Bone Series. They are all about this boy Charlie and all his friends. He is endowed which means he has an unusual gift, Charlie can listen to people in pictures and portraits. His gift takes him on many wild adventures, but we’ll have to read the series to find out the rest.

How is the book, ” Peter and the Star Catchers?” I am going to read that next when I am finished with, ” Peter and the Shadow Theives.”
I started two other books, ” The Wanderer,” by Sharon Creech (my new favorite author) and “Dodi’s Prince.” They are pretty good so far, but I haven’t got that far in the books.

I am reading a book called SuperFuge by Judy Blume. Its about a boy named Peter and his little brother Farley, A.K.A Fuge. Peter’s mom had a baby named Toostie and Fuge decorated Tootsie with post stamps and said that he was going to send Tootsie away and get a prize! This book is so funny!!!

The Legend of Annie Murphy is a great book and very mysterious. For anyone who likes mystery than here’s more to what it’s about. Two kids go back in time and everyone in the town thinks Annie killed her husband ,but Jay and Lila (the two kids) think that Annie didn’t do it ! If you like the sound of that you’ll love this book!

I think The Legend of Annie Murphy sounds good. Who is the author?
Monday, April 28th, 2008 @ 2:06 pm
I suggest the book Guardians of Ga’Hoole (1 or 2) By Kathryn Lasky.
It is about 4 owls trying to find a secret tree, The Ga’Hoolian Tree. They run into trouble and some sadness on the way.

Island of the Blue Dolphins-
Q - Was it a good decision for Won-a-pa-lei to jump of the boat and go to her brother back on the island?
A - I think it was a good decision, plus she had to think fast because the boat was slowly drifting away from the island. The more time she thought about it the tougher time she would have if she decided to go back and stay with Ramo. She made and reasonable decision because Ramo is only six and he probably couldn’t survive until a ship came back to get him. He would be extremely lonely and very scared/worried just like Won-a-pa-lei is now. Another good explanation about why Won-a-pa-lei went back for her brother is because her and Ulape were his parents and Won-a-pa-lei knew that if her parents were there right now they would of probably went back to the island and care for him.
I would have done this if it were my sister, even though she is older and could most likely survive on her own. She is part of my family and no one gets left behind. I don’t think she has good surviving skills anyway, so it would be like saving her from dangerous things that could affect her life in many ways. My sister means a lot to me too because if something ever happened to her I would have no one to talk to about school, sports, or girl stuff besides my mom. If I was in that postion my mind would be blank because it is a very hard decision to make on sudden notice.

Hi!!!!! I miss fifth grade so much! Advice for fifth graders: Enjoy every minute of Pashley. Please. And the middle school is awesome. A lot more responsibility, though. Another word of advice: don’t procrastinate! If you do it from the start it’ll be with you the whole year…… great, now I sound like I’m writing a horror story. And I’ll stop by during finals, too.
Sincerely,
Your favorite student, (hehe)
